Sarracenia x chelsonii 'MAROON'Sarracenia x chelsonii MAROON is a classic. The compact, clumpy, ruffled-lidded and dark red in all seasons (even in winter) is a wonderful sight. Flowers are dark red and gently sweet scented. The S. rubra is a clumpy plant and gives the habit of producing loads of growing points (side shoots). S. purpurea parent lends its short, stocky shape. Both are responsible for the wonderful deep red coloration. The pitchers start out green, and turn dark red as they mature. S. x chelsonii is the name given to any hybrid of S. purpurea and S. rubra. It is a naturally occuring hybrid, and can be found in in habitats inhabited by both parent species. It's found in wet pocosins of coastal Southeastern United States. We offer plants in L size. Sarracenia x michellianaSarracenia x michelliana is a compact plant with stocky pitchers. A hybrid of S. purpurea and S. leucophylla that inherited very nice features from both. From the purpurea parent it has the thickness compactness, and dark venation of the pitchers. Leucophylla brings the white ornamentation of the lid and the upright stance. If taken care of properly, the plant looks like a living lace. You can find cultivation tips on our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@RanchOfPlants

Sarracenia x michelliana x flava var. rugeliiSarracenia x mitchelliana x flava var. rugelii is a hybrid of 3 winterhardy species: leucophylla, purpurea and flava. We tested (forgot) a couple of plants outside on a windowsill back in 2019 and they've been there since and despite having absolutely zero protection. Very bushy, medium size (ca 40 cm) with a dark red gaping maw. Quite clumpy and a fast grower - one of my favourite sarras. Sarracenia x readii 'FARNHAMII'Sarracenia x readii 'FARNHAMII' is a clump forming and fast growing hybrid. Its parents are S. leucophylla and S. rubra, which is a great combination of characters for a first rate houseplant. Leucophylla brings into the mix the pure white areoles and rubra the fast growth and clumpyness. Pitchers turn deep red in autumn. Plant overwinters with many large phyllodia. pitchers are up to 40 cm tall. You can find cultivation tips on our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@RanchOfPlants

Sarracenia x stevensii BOOBIE JOSarracenia x stevensii Boobie Jo is a hybrid Sarracenia rubra subsp. gulfensis x leucophylla. We obtained is under the name Boobie Jo, yes, Boobie, not Bobbie. We know it was bred in UK in 2019, but not much more than this. Despite having a slightly scant provenance, the plant is really pretty. It grows to 40ish cm tall. Pitchers on young plants are intensely pink and small. Only on adult plants do pitchers reveal their true beauty: rich red background, dotted with a lace of fenestrations and a very wavy lid. Sarracenia - hybrids
Sarracenia x swaniana 'BARBAPAPA'Sarracenia x swaniana 'BARBAPAPA' selected cultivar of a naturally occuring hybrid between S. purpurea var. venosa and S. minor var. minor. The cultivar name is a reference to the cartoon character barbapapa. The round stocky red pitchers actually do resemble a barbapapa. Sarracenia BARBAPAPA is a beginner sarra, and winterhardy too. If grown indoors care should be taken that it recieves enough light to keep the nice deep red color. In lower light the pitchers are green, with red venation. This is also the color phase all developing leaves go thru. Each growing tip produces many pitchers. Pitchers persist over the winter, which is a typical purpurea trait. Because of the number of pitchers and their girth, the plant looks clumpier than it actually is. You can find cultivation tips on our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@RanchOfPlants
Sarracenia - hybrids
Sarracenia x wrigleyana 'SCARLET BELLE' (S. leucophylla x psittacina)Sarracenia x wrigleyana 'SCARLET BELLE' is a classic. It develops its deep red coloration even if kept in semi-shade. Also it is a smallish low-growing plant. The mouths of it's traps are folded onto themselves unlike in any other pitcher plant. The plant is vigorous, but not clumpy, and keeps it's ''octopus'' shape for years. All of these facts make it an excellent, exotic or even alien looking houseplant. Because it doesn't need full sun to color up an intense red, you can easily grow it on a windowsill. S. x wrigleyana is one of the so-called snakehead hybrids, progeny of S. psittacina. Sarracenia wrigleyana is a psittacina x leucophylla cross. We sell medium sized plants with one growing point, You can find cultivation tips on our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@RanchOfPlants
