Pinguicula sp. Tehuacan possibly originated into culture via seeds labeled as P. moranensis type 'Tehuacan' in Harald Weiner's seeds list in 1987. It may be Pinguicula moranensis or P. ehlersiae or a hybrid between them or between one of them and some other species. Both species are very variable, and until a more in-depth study is done, we won't know for sure.
Pinguicula sp. Tehuacan forms a robust, fleshy rosette of pale green-to-cream leaves that are densely covered in high-potency trapping dew. Because it comes from a more arid natural habitat, it handles humidity drops much better than other species, making it a phenomenal windowsill plant. When it blooms, it sends up lovely, elegant violet flowers that add a wonderful splash of color.
· Arid Wild-Type Resilience: Originates from a rugged environment, making it exceptionally hardy and tolerant of lower humidity.
· Clean Creamy Tones: Leaves display a beautiful pale, clean coloration that stands out next to darker plants.
· Perfect Windowsill Companion: Low maintenance and tough, ideal for growers without a closed terrarium.
