BIG MOUTH is Dionaea on steroids. It features very large traps, up to 5 cm in diameter. They are on short prostate petioles, that make the traps look even larger. The plant has a reddish - brown tint in winter. In summer, just the inside of the traps is this dark color. Vigorous grower.
Very similar in size to B52, however B52 is always bright green, while a BIG MOUTH gets so red, that a small overwintering BIG MOUTH might easily be mistaken for an AKAI RYU. B52 and BIG MOUTH are second in size only to the likes of DCXL.
BIG MOUTH was registered in 1998 by T. Camilleri.
