Sarracenia x wrigleyana 'SCARLET  BELLE' is a classic. It develops its deep red coloration even if kept in semi-shade. Also it is a smallish low-growing plant. The mouths of it's traps are folded onto themselves unlike in any other pitcher plant. The plant is vigorous, but not clumpy, and keeps it's ''octopus'' shape for years. All of these facts make it an excellent, exotic or even alien looking houseplant. Because it doesn't need full sun, you can easily grow it on a windowsill.

S. x wrigleyana is one of the so-called snakehead hybrids, progeny of S. psittacina. Sarracenia wrigleyana is a psittacina x leucophylla cross.
